Village of Bear Lake Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is a component of Village government that is required by law and responsible for:

• Preparing, reviewing and updating the Master Plan which is a guide for development for what taxpayers want the Village to look like in the future. 
• Monitoring the Blight and Zoning Ordinances including suggesting recommended amendments and variances to the Village Council.  
• Working with the Village Council to develop the annual Capital Improvement Plan along with suggestions for funding for anticipated improvements. 

The Planning Commission consists of the following members:

• Jeanne Walsh-Vission – Chairperson
• John Virga – Vice Chairperson
• Hannah Hodge – Secretary
• Shelly Lynnes – Ex-Officio Member 

We have openings for members on the Planning Commission. It is important for us to have members that represent all segments of the population of the Village. If you are interested in getting involved and taking part in crafting the vision for the future of the Village, we encourage you to attend one of our meetings.
